Understanding Construction Delays

About a year ago, I could tell that our home project was a little delayed. Our team of contractors had been struggling to work with some of their providers, so I decided to work with another team altogether. It was really frustrating, but I could tell that it was the right call to make. After we made the transition, the new staff got right to work addressing some of the most serious concerns. I wanted to create a blog all about understanding construction delays so that other people could see how difficult it can be to resolve them on your own. Check it out!

The Benefits Of EPS Insulation

Gina Hawkins

EPS insulation is a closed-cell, foamed plastic insulation. It is becoming extremely popular and can be used in a variety of different ways, including insulating the underside of roofs, insulating garage doors, insulating commercial properties, and insulating walls in homes. If you are considering using EPS insulation, also sometimes referred to as EPS foam insulation for your construction project or renovation, learning the benefits of this material can help you decide if it is ideal for your project. Here are some of the benefits of EPS insulation.

EPS Insulation Helps Increase the Energy Efficiency of Your Building

One of the biggest benefits associated with EPS insulation is that it is considered to be an energy-efficient product, helping your home or commercial building to become as energy efficient as possible. When you install this type of insulation in your home, it helps to keep heated and cooled air inside of your home, while also helping to keep outdoor air from entering your home. It is also important to note that some types of insulation break down and lose their efficiency as they age. EPS insulation does not break down or lose efficiency.

EPS Insulation Does Not Absorb Water or Moisture

One of the more unique benefits associated with EPS insulation is that it does not absorb water or moisture in the air. Currently, only EPS insulation and spray foam insulation can do this. This is important, as insulation typically absorbs a small amount of humidity or moisture in the air. This can lead to mold and mildew growth. EPS insulation is also mold-resistant, helping prevent mold growth in your home.

EPS Insulation is a Great Acoustic Insulator

Lastly, EPS insulation is a great acoustic insulator. This helps to ensure that people cannot hear between walls, making your home or commercial space quieter. Additionally, due to its acoustic properties, EPS insulation is often used on the underside of metal roofs. The insulation helps to make metal roofs much quieter, ensuring residents or tenants do not hear the rain pouring down on a metal roof.

There are many insulative materials that you can select from when you are completing a construction project on your home or your commercial building. However, taking the time to learn about the benefits that various types of insulation have to offer is one of the best ways to educate yourself on materials and make a decision about which materials are best for your project. EPS insulation has many benefits associated with it, and that is why it is becoming a popular insulative material for a variety of projects, including both commercial and residential projects.
